A months worth of thinking

I have a new idea for facebook. Maybe its just me but when people have their profile picture to be one of them smiling and have a good time and then their statue is sad, I find this to be awkward at best. So I propose that facebook created a feature where people could store different pictures into different "mood' categories such as Happy, Sad, Angry, etc... For example, the Happy category you could load a picture of you smiling and then in the Sad category you could load a picture of you crying. Then when you are updating your status you could also update your "mood" and then your profile picture would display the emotion that you status is talking about.

But regardless of the greatness of the idea people would not use it, or put happy pictures in the Sad category and say they are being "ironic", or the feature would become useless because we would be to lazy to use it. But nonetheless I think its a neat idea.

The Doctor was concern that it might be my appendix so he sent me to the hospital for more testing. I stayed there until 11 pm on friday. And the Numbers Are......

Well. its been one week. I have kept to the diet and the workout plan pretty closely. So now its time for the weekly update. I have weighted and measured myself again. My body is as followed

Weight: 245 lbs
Arms: 15 inches
Legs: 28 inches
Waist: 41.5 inches
Belly: 45 inches
Chest: 45.5 inches

A note on how I feel
I feel ok. I dont feel like i've lost 7 pounds but i dont as big as i did last week. i haven't been hungry really and if i am i just eat something small. But yeah i was a good week.

Tomorrow is Ashley's first day of work. So we are going to eat out. After talking to friends and reading i am going to have a cheat meal once a week. I'm not going to eat a cake or meat but i will eat something not so healthy. So that meal will be monday night.

Ashley as also been eating better and working out. she has done very well this week and i am very proud of her. I know next week will be hard for her with a job and all and trying to eat well but i have no doubt that she can do it.

DAY THREE

so today was legs and abs. I hate this day. We all hate this day. But i did it. Here was today's workout

3x8

Leg Press
Sit ups on a swiss ball
Lungs
side abs
calves raises
Legs lifts (for the abs)

and then i walked for about 30mins.

Yesterday i did get 180 grams of protein. that is harder than you would think.

And lastly Ashley did get that job. She is a infant teacher. This is good for the following reasons.

1) she is making money
2) she is out of the house and not lonely
3) she is getting her baby fixed with out it costing me anything.

This one is for you Jason Bragg

so to make jason happy here was my workout for the first day.

Dumbbell Press 3x8
Tricep extension with rope 3x8
Dumbbell Flys 3x8
Overhead dumbbell thingy 3x8
Incline dumbbell Press 3x8
single arm tricep kick out thingy 3x8
Cable decline lift thingy 3x8

The gym i workout in doesn't have any barbells so everything is done with cables or dumbbells.

I only ate 150 grams of protein today. I was at a different studio today and he doesn't allow food in the studio so i couldn't eat like i had planned. But tomorrow should be different. ok good night

DAY ONE

so today I started my new work out. I did 12 sets on chest and 9 sets on triceps. I also did 15 mins of walking and 20mins of the elliptical machine keeping my heart rate between 150 and 160 beats a minutes. I also wake up at 7:30 and ate 3 eggs before workout and drank a protein shake after work out.

A note about diet. I am to eat 180 grams of protein a day. This is not easy but I think I can do it. I also want to eat less at each meal and eat more meals.

Anyways i'm off to the studio. later.

An Experiment With My Body.

My name is Tyler Kyle Browder. I am 5'10ish. I have brown hair and a brown/yellow/red beard. I weight 252.5 pounds as of tonight. Starting tonight I will be conducting an experiment on my body. I have taken measurements and pictures of my body as it currently looks. I have not photoshopped any of the pictures or changed any of the measurements. I will be starting a new workout routine this week and every time I workout I will be posting a blog about what I did that day in the gym. My goal is to look good naked. I will be taking weekly measurements and and weighing in every Sunday evening. I might take pictures but I might not. I want to be healthy. So first I will show what I am now and then tell you what I want to be in the future and how I plan on doing this.

MY BODY:
Weight: 252.5 (with boxers on)
Biceps: 14.5 inches
Thighs: 29 inches
Waist: 45 inches
Belly: 45.5 inches
Chest: 47 inches

That is where I'm at. This is where I want to go.

MY GOALS

Weight: 215
I want to wear a size 32 jeans comfortably. I want only my chest to touch my shirt not my chest and belly. I want to look good naked. I want to do this by Christmas. I dont want to take any supplements other then protein shakes and what not.

That's the beginning and the end and here is the vehicle.

MY WORKOUT ( Thank you Jason Bragg)

Sunday: Off
Monday: Off
Tuesday - Chest & Triceps
Wednesday - Off
Thursday - Back & Biceps
Friday - Legs & Abs
Saturday - Shoulders & Traps

I will do this workout this way due to my work schedule at the studio. I will also be doing cardio as well. In 4 weeks I plan on changing my workout to keep my body guessing but I have not chosen how I will change it. I will also be changing my diet as best I can. More on this later.

Lastly i will along with my workouts be taking notes on how i feel not just phyiscally but also emotionally.

HOW I FEEL:

I feel tired and slow. I feel full and uncomfortable most of the time. I feel weak and completely out of shape.

So there it is. I am doing this online so I will have accountability to stick to my workout and reach my goals. I hope my readers will help me and get on to me if I cheat. Ok. I'm done.

BRAND NEW

so if you dont know Brand New's new CD comes out on September 22nd. they just posted the first single off of the CD on their myspace. The song is called "At The Bottom". Check it out. Thats all.

Speak where the Bible Speaks and be silent where the Bible is slient

This is the grand thinking behind most of the doctrine of the Church of Christ. The other guiding motto is that they want to follow the example of the first church in the book of Acts. Now stay with me here. It has become almost biblical that all christians should be Republican and pro freedom and go America. That is an interesting stand for christian, to be more specific, Church of Christer's to take. To be all about democracy and all about doing what the Bible saids and what the first church did. I wonder what Bible they read. Cause to be honest i've never read about democracy in the Bible. Read this:

"32All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. 33With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. 34There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need." Acts 4:32-34

Now that doesn't sound like a democracy. That sounds a lot like Communism. Sharing everyones possessions. Selling they homes and giving the money the people in charge so that no one would be in need. Don't get me wrong this is a great and wonderful thing. A world where no one needs anything is a world we know nothing of. But it sure the heck sounds more like a communist then a republican.

I'm not saying that the Bible is communism over democracy. In fact I'm saying that the Bible isn't talking about politics at all. The Bible is silent about stating what is the holiest government form. I think christians should to. May G-d forgive us for speaking about what we don't know. We are all fools yelling at the wind.

Gay Pride

I read an interesting article the other day. I was about the Gay Pride event that took place last week in Nashville. One of the statements may an impression on me and i wanted to share it with you.

"With all the changes, including a significantly higher acceptance if not support for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, Pride events still take place in a nation which, among other things, routinely kicks “homosexuals” out of the military; a nation which offers no employment or housing protections for LGBTQs; a nation which has a “Defense of Marriage Act” as law."

It made me think about my view on LGBT's rights. I think that LGBT should have rights. They should have rights to marry. I believe that sexual preference should not play a part in employment and housing. Now listen closely. I do believe that homosexuality is a sin, but i do not believe that it is a greater sin then drunkenness or lying. But if liars and drunkers can marry then so should LGBT people. A lot of christians may disagree with me but until someone can show me biblical proof against me or we stop allowing the drunk and the liar to marry I will stand by my believe.

I would like to see what other people think about this statement.

Kick drum

a good kick drum in music is something i have come to love. A bad kick drum is something i hate. This is one of the biggest reasons why i hate listening to the Professors of Light Cd (sorry Jay). The kick throughout the whole CD sucks. its too boomy and muddy. there is no snap. Its not tight. To make a kick snap you want to boost around 4kHz. that will bring out the beater hitting the drum. Next you want to cut out the frequencies around 400 Hz. The 400 range is where the kick sounds muddy or boxy. by cutting these we clean up the sound. Next you might want to use a shelving EQ at around 80Hz to bring in the bass frequencies. This will get you headed down the right path to a great sounding kick. You will also want to put a compress on the kick to make it more punchy. how much you compress will depends greatly on the style of music you are mixing. you can also at reverb to it if it makes sense too.

There you go. Now get out there and make some great albums.

The death of the music industry?

Today i got a crash course in the music industry from my teacher. here are the things i took away from it.

1. The music industry is not nor is it going to die.
2. physical CD still out sell digital downloads but won't forever.
3. The new business model for the music industry is not new. its how they did it in the 50's and 60's
4. The indie labels need the major labels and the majors need the indies. Neither is going anywhere.

Now of course i could be wrong be misguided.

Second point i like to make is that "Fast and Furious" had the largest April debut in the movie history with 72.4 million. Who cares about whether the movie is good or not, the interesting thing we should look at is that in what some have called the worst economic time since the Great Depression movies are breaking records. We can justify this all we want but the facts are facts. And this fact points to support that people will still spend money on entertainment even when the country ( the world) is hurting.

Third and last point i like to make is what is Obama going to do about North Korea. I don't know but he said that he was going to do something if they launched a rocket and they did now what? I'll be interested to see. So check this out. Way to go Ivy league education. They serviced him well.

NOthing

I have become increasing less impressed with things.
Like teenage romances and emo poetry
Clever words and empty hooks
All seem the same to me.
They are to me.

NOthing.

Beauty, Life, Peace, and Joy
Are hopeful dreams for little boys
But its my Pride that fills me now like wine in an empty glass
And i drank.
An i drankk.

Music Business Update

Kelly Clarkson will made history tomorrow by making the biggest jump on the Billboard charts for her single "My Life Would Suck Without You". Jumping from 97 to 1, this will be the second time she will set the record.

The Keyboardist from Lynrd Skynyrd die.

A song from Jay-Z's new album was leaked to the internet. I bet it was the intern who leaked it.

The chairman of EMI Music France Nathalie Collin has left the company. After only 6 months of being the chairman one begins to wonder what happen. I'm not sure how this event will affect the industry but EMI is the biggest record label in the world so time will tell.

National Geographic Launched a record Label. Weird uh.

Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is being made into a live theater production... ummm. Why not? If he can help write a musical so can I. I'll call it "Monkey Throwing Poo" just to keep it in line with "Thriller"

Well thats all today.

A new goal

I like goals. I blame this on my dad but i do, I really like goals. All sorts of goals. Short term or Long term it doesn't matter. Ashley hates goals... We will call this friction number 1 ( no doubt there will be many more to come ). But thats not the point of this blog. The point is I have a new goal. Well I have lots of new goals but we will talk about these in the future right now i want to talk about my new goal. starting tomorrow I want to read the top 10 novels of all time in one year. Well kind of. I have chosen to use the 100 Best Novel List by Modern Library who are some how connected to Random House. The list is only of the best 100 novels written in since 1900 but it will work. I will hopefully read the first ten books. I doubt I understand anything in any of the books but I hope that i understand some of it and i hope to learn a lot from it. At the very least it will be just another goal i didnt complete but i bet i learn something from it.
