Andrew Belle

Today we are looking at an artist named Andrew Belle. Originally from Chicago and now living in Nashville Belle is a smooth pop artist. More in the vein of The Swell Season Belle's songs have been on tons of TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, 90210 ( the new one) and many more. He was voted best new artist of out Chicago by MTV (even though MTV is crap Belle is not).

Belle is also part of a collective musical group called Ten out of Tenn just if a bunch of different artists from Nashville who get together make a CD and then tour. A lot of get music is made by Ten out of Tenn so I highly suggest going and checking out the different artist.

The song is called "Static Waves" The video below is not done by Belle but it is the song full song with something watch.

Circa Survive

As i'm sure yall know Circa Survive third album is coming out next week. I've listen to a few songs and I can tell you this. It sounds for a production point completely different. The first two CD where released by Equal Vision but this new one is being release by Altantic Records. The new stuff sounds from a production point of view a big label release. Its more polished, its bigger sounds and its cleaner, its more compressed. That doesnt mean its bad, it just means they stepped up their game. Listen to it. see what you think.

For examples of that i'm talking. Before listening to the new stuff go listen to their song "Stop the F@$&ing Car" its on their myspace the last song. Listen for like a minute then go listen to their new song "Get Out" the second song on myspace. Do you hear the difference?

So about Iceland

I know I promised everyone that we were going to visit iceland next. But because of the comments i heard about that last song ( and I only heard comments from one person... one know who you are) I going to play a song from Janelle Monae. Originally from Kansas City the now Atlanta GA singer has teamed up with Big Boi from Outkast. Now if this song is boring to You I will cry.

The song is called Tightrope and its off of her up coming album coming out in May. To points:
1. This girl can sing.
2. I wish I could dance like her.

If you like her then I would recommend that you check out her "group". Monae is a member of a group call Wondaland Arts Society. Its a label of sorts but they claim to be something different. Check it out.

Going to Scotland to scare rabbits.

So I did not mean for this blog to turn into a country jumping tour of music but oh well. Today we are in Scotland to check a band I just came across. They are called "Frightened Rabbit" and they are good. They have been on tour opening up for Modest Mouse. Their single is called "Swim Until You Can't See Land" though its not my favorite song by them it is still a really good song, and it is the only official music video up.

If you liked that song you check out the song "The Modern Leper". I hope you enjoy them.

Next time on the Browder Promise we will be traveling to Iceland. No its not Sigur Ros so dont worry. so grab you coat and open your mind to something new.

We Goin Irish Tonight.

I love The Swell Season. I thought about having the blog just be that statement and then play the video from their new CD. Nevertheless I feel the pressure to write more.

The Swell Season is basically two people. Guitar player and singer Glen Hansard and Piano player and signer Marketa Irglova. They became famous as a group when they stared and wrote the music for the movie "Once" and if you having seen the movie and you like this band then you will like the movie. Thats the Browder Promise. Anywho Hansard is from Ireland and Irglova is Czech.

This is their single from their new album "Strict Joy" called "Low Rising"

Did you hear that groove? Man thats baby making music right there except for the part where the song is about a broken relationship. But I guess what I'm trying to say is Robbie you should play this song and see if you can make a baby. Booya

And thats the Browder Promise.
